Once your move is complete and you're satisfied with our service, we'll calculate the final cost based on actual time spent (at $145/hour with a 3-hour minimum). The remaining balance is due at completion, minus your $250 deposit.

What does the $150 truck fee cover?

The truck fee covers the cost of fuel, vehicle maintenance and depreciation, insurance, and all moving equipment including dollies, straps, furniture blankets, and tools. This is a one-time fee per move, regardless of distance or duration.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans change. Here's our cancellation policy:

  • 48+ hours notice: Full refund of your $250 deposit
  • 24-48 hours notice: 50% refund ($125)
  • Less than 24 hours: No refund (deposit forfeited)

How should I prepare for moving day?

To ensure a smooth and efficient move, please:

  • Pack and label boxes: Have everything boxed up and clearly labeled by room
  • Clear pathways: Ensure hallways, stairs, and doorways are obstacle-free
  • Secure parking: Reserve parking spots near both pickup and delivery locations
  • Protect floors: We'll use blankets, but pre-existing floor protection is appreciated
  • Separate valuables: Keep important documents, jewelry, and medications with you

When and how do I pay?

You'll pay a $250 deposit when booking online to secure your date. The remaining balance is due after the move is completed. We accept cash, credit cards, Venmo, and Zelle. Your final invoice will be based on actual time worked at our $145/hour rate plus the $150 truck fee.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes! Do It Right Moving is fully licensed and insured. We carry liability insurance to protect your belongings during the move. While we take every precaution to handle your items with care, accidents can happen, and our insurance provides peace of mind.

How long will my move take?

Move duration varies based on property size, amount of items, distance, stairs, and other factors. As a rough estimate: a 1-bedroom apartment typically takes 2-3 hours, a 2-bedroom takes 3-4 hours, and a 3-bedroom house takes 4-6 hours. We'll provide a more accurate estimate after discussing your specific needs.
